FAQ: Trauma-Informed Support & Therapeutic Massage

Q: What kind of support do you offer?

I offer trauma-informed therapy and bodywork, including talking-based sessions and therapeutic massage. My approach supports nervous system regulation, emotional resilience, and long-term healing. I work with women healing from childhood trauma, birth trauma, and other overwhelming life experiences.

Q: I’m not sure if what I went through ‘counts’ as trauma – can you still help?

Yes. You don’t need a diagnosis to reach out. If something still affects you — emotionally, physically, or in how you relate to others — then it matters. I work gently and collaboratively to support you from where you are.

Q: What’s the first step to working with you?

You can book a free 15 to 30-minute call to ask questions and get a feel for how I work. There's no obligation — it's simply a chance to connect.

Q: Do I have to talk about my trauma in detail?

No. You only share what feels safe and useful for you. Many of the approaches I use don’t require going over painful memories — the focus is on how your body and mind are holding those experiences now, and how we can begin to shift that.

Q: What’s trauma-informed massage?

It’s a gentle, respectful approach that prioritises your comfort, consent, and nervous system regulation. You’re always in control, and the session adapts to your needs — whether you're feeling anxious, shut down, or curious but unsure.

Q: How does massage help with trauma?

Trauma often lives in the body as tension, numbness, or chronic stress. Massage can help reintroduce feelings of safety, settle the nervous system, and support physical and emotional release.

Q: I’ve had a difficult birth – can you support that?

Yes. I work with women healing from birth trauma across the whole childbearing year — including traumatic pregnancies, births, or postnatal experiences. I also support VBAC preparation and decisions around future births.

Q: Do you offer online sessions?

Yes — many of my talking-based sessions, including QEC and the Rewind technique, are available online. Massage sessions are in-person only, from my base in Kirriemuir

FAQ: Quantum Energy Coaching (QEC)

Q: What is QEC?

QEC stands for Quantum Energy Coaching. It’s a gentle, neuroscience-informed approach that helps rewire limiting beliefs and shift patterns held in the subconscious mind. It works with the body and mind together to create lasting change.

Q: How does a QEC session work?

We identify a belief, thought pattern or emotional state that’s holding you back. Together, we create new empowering statements and install them using a gentle process involving breath, body awareness, and intentional focus. You remain fully conscious and in control throughout.

Q: What kind of issues can QEC help with?

QEC can support many areas — from anxiety, low self-worth, and trauma responses to difficulties with boundaries, relationships, and chronic stress. I also offer QEC for intergenerational patterns and beliefs passed down through family systems.

Q: Do I need to talk about the past for QEC to work?

Not necessarily. You don’t have to go into the full story or revisit traumatic memories. QEC works by shifting how that experience is held in your nervous system and subconscious mind, so you can move forward more freely.

Q: What does it feel like afterwards?

Most people describe feeling lighter, calmer, more clear, or energised. Sometimes old emotions rise temporarily as your system adjusts. I’ll guide you through aftercare and integration at your own pace.

FAQ: 3 Step Rewind for Trauma

Q: What is the 3 Step Rewind technique?

3 Step Rewind is a gentle and effective process that helps reduce the emotional intensity of traumatic memories. It’s particularly useful for people experiencing symptoms like flashbacks, nightmares, or anxiety after a difficult event. It can be used for birth trauma, childhood trauma, or any other experience that continues to affect your wellbeing.

Q: How does it work?

The process involves three stages:

  1. Talking through your experience (as much or as little as you wish)

  2. Guided visualisation using deep relaxation to revisit the memory from a safe distance

  3. Reimagining a future where the trauma no longer holds emotional power

It’s done at your pace, and you remain in control at all times.

Q: Will I have to talk about what happened in detail?

No. You are welcome to share only what feels safe and relevant. The process can still be effective even without going into the full story — it works by helping your brain and nervous system relate to the memory in a different way.

Q: What kind of trauma can 3 Step Rewind help with?

Rewind can help with symptoms of Post-Traumatic Stress Response after:
– Difficult births or pregnancies
– Accidents, injuries, or medical trauma
– Childhood experiences
– Witnessing or hearing about distressing events

If the memory is still triggering intense emotions, Rewind may help ease that response.

Q: How many sessions will I need?

Most people need 2 to 3 sessions, although this varies depending on the complexity of your experience. The process is designed to be brief but impactful. We’ll check in together to make sure it’s feeling helpful.

Q: What does it feel like afterwards?

Many people report feeling lighter, calmer, or more spacious — as though the memory is still there, but it no longer causes the same emotional reaction. It’s also normal to feel tired or to notice subtle changes unfolding in the days afterwards.

Q: Can 3 Step Rewind be done online?

Yes. 3 Step Rewind can be safely and effectively delivered via video call. You’ll need a quiet, comfortable space where you won’t be disturbed. I’ll guide you every step of the way.

Q: Is 3 Step Rewind suitable for birth trauma?

Absolutely. 3 Step Rewind is a powerful and gentle way to release trauma from a difficult birth — whether your baby is days, months, or years old. It was developed with three steps specifically to address birth trauma. It can help with fear, grief, anger, and unresolved emotions, and many clients say they feel more like themselves again afterwards.
