#ihaveembraced

I am really excited about plans to bring Embrace (by Taryn Brumfitt)
to Tayside again, by
promoting public screenings as well as working towards taking this really important, life changing documentary into schools.

I am looking for enthusiastic, committed individuals, who are passionate about bringing this amazing film to Tayside later this year, to join me in sharing this film where Taryn explores the global issue of body loathing. Call me now!!

Who is this film for? EVERYONE! The film has a 12A Certificate
It is recommended that children over 10 could benefit from viewing Embrace.

I am delighted to have been accepted by the Body Image Movement as one their Global Ambassadors. What does that mean, I hear you ask?

Well, I aim to share links and info which inspire and raise women up,and encourages them to EMBRACE their fantastic, amazing bodies which are 'not ornaments, but are vehicles to their dreams'.

I'm pretty sure that many, most or even all of you have/had difficulty in appreciating your own body. We have grown up comparing ourselves to an idealised portrayal in the media. Considering not even the models/actors themselves look like the images which are finally portrayed in print or on film we are on a hiding to nothing if we want to aspire to look like them.

I wrote about my own personal story of body lovin' on my blog earlier this year. Having a daughter nearing puberty I have been conscious for few years now of not wanting to provide a negative role model when it comes to body image. I can tell you it's been tough.  But I really don't want to be the one who teaches her to be neurotic about her perfect body.

I was delighted to support Tina McGuff to bring the film, EMBRACE, to Dundee in March 2017. It was important to both of us that our daughters got to see the film, not just ours but yours too. Since then, I have also read Taryn's book and absolutely loved it!!!      Get your copy here

"After posting a less than traditional ‘before’ and ‘after’ photo on social media in 2013, not even Brumfitt could have anticipated the attention it would gain worldwide in the media, propelling her Body Image Movement into the hearts and homes of millions in Australia to the U.S. and every country in between.

With support from celebrities including Ashton Kutcher, Rosie O’Donnell and Zooey Deschanel, along with millions of men and women in over 100 counties, Brumfitt’s brand of honest and witty storytelling will have you both in stitches and in tears.

From losing her brother to a heroin addiction and being bullied at school to embarrassing (yet let’s face it, relatable!) toilet tales, EMBRACE will challenge you to reconsider the relationship you have with your body, but above all, will inspire you to embrace a life without boundaries so that you too can love the skin you’re in" -  Product Description
